Corrections policy
Correct the record, and show what changed
Last reviewed 29 July 2026. Cayman Homes should distinguish a factual correction from a routine update and preserve an internal record of both.
What qualifies
Reportable issues include an inaccurate fact, outdated material statement, misidentified source, misleading status or price, unsupported affiliation, undisclosed sponsorship, privacy concern, or image, trademark, copyright, or attribution issue.
Review process
- 1Record the exact page, disputed statement or asset, reason, and supporting evidence.
- 2Preserve the current text and source record, then unpublish immediately when continued display could cause material harm or infringe rights.
- 3Check the strongest available primary source and seek qualified review where the issue is legal, regulatory, technical, or property-specific.
- 4Correct, clarify, add an as-of date, replace the asset, or remove the material.
- 5Record who approved the outcome, the evidence relied on, and whether related pages need the same change.
Visible correction notes
A material correction should display the correction date, what was wrong, and the corrected fact. Routine updates such as a scheduled annual review can update the page's reviewed date without implying an earlier error, but the internal revision record should remain.
No pay-to-remove policy
Cayman Homes should not charge to correct an error, address a valid rights concern, or remove unlawful material. Nor should payment prevent a substantiated negative or cautionary fact from being published.
The standards applied during review are described in the editorial policy.
