Editorial policy
Evidence, independence, and clear limits
Last reviewed 29 July 2026. This policy defines the standard Cayman Homes is adopting for new and updated editorial content. Pages that do not yet meet it should be corrected, withheld from search, consolidated, or unpublished.
Editorial purpose
Content should help a reader compare areas, property types, documented project facts, and due-diligence questions. It must not simulate live inventory, present marketing copy as independent evidence, or promise a financial or lifestyle outcome.
Source hierarchy
- 1Current legislation, regulators, government departments, planning records, and official statistical releases
- 2Current developer, operator, strata, or property documents for claims within their direct knowledge
- 3Licensed professional records and attributable expert review within the reviewer’s scope
- 4Established news reporting and specialist secondary sources with a clear publication date
- 5Broker listings and marketing material, labelled as claims rather than independent proof
A source must actually support the nearby claim. Facts should be rewritten in original language rather than copied from marketing material.
Dates, status, and verification
Material claims should record the source owner and URL, access date, fact-specific as-of date, reviewer, verification status, and next review. Developments must use a precise status such as proposed, pre-construction, under construction, completed, operating resort, resale, or rental. Prices and availability require especially recent property-specific confirmation.
Development and neighbourhood coverage
Naming a development is for identification, not an endorsement or claim of affiliation. Every profile should display an independence notice, source labels, and last-verified date. Neighbourhood descriptions must distinguish official statistics from estimates, describe map and commute methodology, and avoid presenting generic imagery as a photograph of the named place.
Images, trademarks, and AI
An asset may be published only when its creator, source, licence or permission, allowed uses, attribution, releases, expiry, and page uses are recorded. Public availability, a press label, credit, or backlink is not a licence. Logos and branded presentation should not be used without documented permission.
AI imagery may support clearly illustrative category or editorial design. It must not depict invented architecture on a named development page, pose as a real neighbourhood photograph, or generate factual maps, floorplans, charts, testimonials, or apparent customers. AI provenance and human similarity review must be recorded.
Reviews, testimonials, and commercial influence
Named authors and reviewers must be real, consent to publication, and have their relevant role accurately described. Testimonials require documented speaker identity, exact wording, context, consent, and substantiation. Anonymous composite or invented testimonials are prohibited.
Sponsorship, referral compensation, supplied assets, or other material relationships must be disclosed prominently. Commercial support may not purchase a ranking, positive conclusion, exclusivity claim, or removal of material caveats.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected promptly and the reason recorded. Claims with disputed ownership, safety, legality, availability, price, endorsement, or image rights should be unpublished while reviewed. See the corrections policy.
